Babushka Masha: «I had no choice».
«Babushka Masha» is about simple and hard facts of life being exposed as much as Babushka Masha dares to open up. This documentary is not about politics - no poor female soul is glorified, no painting rosy a horrible past or turning a horrific life into a happy end. It is a drama of emotional life, a process starting somewhere and ending someplace, somehow,...when we decide to stop asking questions.
There is a kind of secret in all this I did not mention yet: Integrity. Though life looks like a washing machine in reverse - the laundry getting more dirty the longer the washing is on - where people end upside down in the process, their soul in hell, their values corrupted. But when the door of the «life-washer» finally opens and confusion as well as destruction look unbearable, there seems to be some sort of integrity surviving in all this that takes my breath.
